“How It All Went Down” is a reflection on the times in which we live. We are truly becoming a, “Nation that has forgotten how to blush”. While America is still the greatest nation in the world, she needs to get back to some common sense and basic values before it is too late.

There is no question  that there are a great many Americans doing the right thing every day. They are your every day heroes. Just this week, the news story about the dangerous rescue of a little dog that had fallen into a deep ravine in California reminded me of how good so many people are. Those rescuers went to great lengths to save that little animal. How much more willing they would have been to save an individual, even risking their own lives. This was just a small reminder that the indomitable American spirit is still alive in most of us.

How It All Went Down
DIGITAL MUSIC FILE

There once was a time in a place that I love
When most of the people prayed to Someone above
For knowledge and truth between right and wrong
And wisdom was a part of freedom’s own sweet song

But somewhere along the journey they fell
From grace traded in for their own self will
Said, “I need no God telling me what to do
With my body and my mind,
See it’s all up to me and you
Now we all can see how it started down

Chorus:
But there’s still the place, the place that I love
And God is still looking down from above
But when there’s no shame in the guilty found
Then you can say we saw how it all went down

That city on a hill once the world’s guiding light
Is losing her way like a drunk in the night
When there is no blush for sin to be found
Then you can say we saw how it all went down

There once was a time in the America I love
Where most of the people prayed to Someone above
For knowledge and truth between right and wrong
And wisdom was a part of freedom’s own sweet song
