Hi Everyone,

We have introduced a re-designed website/blog!

All of my new material can now be found at:

pcbarnett.com

Please click on this link and then bookmark the page.

I have been using Wordpress as my blogging software from the beginning.  But I have now switched to Joomla! . Wordpress is good, but I wanted the power and ease of a full featured content management system (CMS) that Joomla! offers.

I have taken this opportunity to combine my website and my blog. These changes  will make it easier for you to find specific content. And it allows me to better highlight my songs, art, photos and commentary. It also makes it easier to keep the content fresh and provide a better browsing experience.

If you have suggestions or comments, please e-mail me.

Your readership is valuable to me. Please click on this link….pcbarnett.com…..and then bookmark the site. When you arrive at the new site, please click on the “About This Site”. This is where the new content and functionality is explained

Thank you for making this transition.

God bless,

Patti Lynn

For some inexplicable reason, I had been thinking about Cindy Bates Quayle lately, the subject of this song. Coincidentally and unexpectedly, just last week I got an e-mail from her sister, Theresa Bates Connolly, who now lives in Norwood, Missouri. It must be time to share this song.

While living and substitute teaching in Phoenix, I became acquainted and close friends with the Bates family that had relocated to Phoenix from Jonesborough, Tennessee, my home town. (Small world after all!) I didn’t really know them well in Tenn., but Theresa and I became quick and close friends and I was made to feel like part of her family. Cindy, the second of three children was such a demure, modest and beautiful girl. She was later happily married to Mike Quayle, Vice President, Dan Quayle’s brother. Not long after, she was diagnosed with leukemia. As devastating as this was, no one could have been more positive and courageous than Cindy. The same strong spirit/faith she exhibited on that plane out of Atlanta to Phoenix was the same calm spirit she had when I last saw her in Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia.

Thankfully, this song was written for Cindy before her death at forty three….and she loved it! I just hope it will be an encouraging example for anyone who may be, ’ Walking through the shadows’ and fighting their own battle.

Cindy
DIGITAL MUSIC FILE

I remember that first shaky flight to Phoenix
You sat beside me and assured me everything would be OK
I know that same spirit now is guiding you
And helping you to make it through each day

Chorus:

And you are teaching us to walk on through the shadows
Never fearing and in weakness staying strong
Never giving up or in to pain and sadness
That’s the reason we are singing Cindy’s song

Long ago I did a portrait for your wedding
I wonder if its still hanging there to tell
You were always called the quiet one of the family
Just a sweet shy and lovely blue eyed girl

Chorus

Not too long ago I saw you here in Philly
Your doctors said they’d never seen one quite like you
So determined and unwilling to be broken
In your spirit that will always see you through

Chorus

I love stews and soups but I want the various meats and vegetables to have their own distinct color, flavor and consistency. Any soup worth its salt will have firm carrots, mushrooms, corn and potatoes.

I just thought of Barack Obama in the kitchen stirring a huge cauldron of soup….and a humorous visual it was. The little unsuspecting vegetables were shouting from the pot to be stirred faster and faster. You know how tingly and excited the masses of gaping gullibles become as they are stirred to a crazed hysteria by the great orator. They were sadly unaware that they were all losing their identity and becoming a cauldron of bland, grey goop. A mush pot called “Obama’s America”. A melting pot luck of lock step people thinking, speaking and acting in Stalinistic unison. Ushered in by the great unifying cook, Barack Obama.

In an Obama nation, one would be considered too firm, a stubborn veggie needing more cooking, if you disagreed with the pack of thoughtless, bleating sheep that made him Commander-in-Chef. Just as sure as the followers are mushheads, individual solidness, independence, personal responsibility and righteous thought patterns would be attacked. So much so, that many would not consider it worth the effort to maintain the fight in the face of such opposition. Political correctness would no longer be optional, but mandatory.  Rather than fight all of this and be considered different and abnormal (even knowing Obama’s Re Americanization policies are so wrong) they would just acquiesce and become a characterless part of the big cauldron of grey, muddified goop.

Think about it!  He wants us all to come together in the name of unity. He wants those who oppose his radical liberal agenda to blend in and meld together with those who support it. Opponents of gay marriage and abortion (especially late term) are to go along to get along, in the name of unity. He wants those who oppose a redistribution of wealth from hard working Americans to the able indolent to be stirred into submission and agreement. He wants his critics to be quiet, accept an ultra liberal America and everything he stands for and just be nice and ,”come together” From Obama’s stance, no differences should be pointed out between Christians, Muslims, Atheists, whatever- in the name of unity.

Well, this is NOT what our Founding Fathers meant by, “The United States of America”. He’s out to restructure the whole system. And the screaming lemmings care not one whit about any of that. They just want him and apparently any change whatsoever he wants will do.  He and his minions keep yelling that America’s broken. Well, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.  If Barack is elected, he’ll fix it all right! If you’re listening, say, “Amen”.

And what about this nonsense about white guilt? And, “Its time for a black president”? I know many in the black community-and whites of the Father Phleger flavor- would have all white folks feel an undeserved guilt over slavery. However, I don’t believe one white person feels any guilt about something they had absolutely nothing to do with. If they do, then it must be misplaced guilt. Get a shrink! I still believe reparations will be revisited like so much of the Obama plan for the ”Brotherhood”

He wants the war in Iraq to come to an abrupt, failed end. And for that view to be accepted by those who want to see a victorious conclusion. To put it mildly, Barack Obama is putting forth a supreme effort at this juncture to hide his and Michelle’s Black Liberation Theology views.

I have observed this pair closely enough to have no doubt that the changes they want for America are only partially listed above. Their overall world view, Marxism, which is evidenced by the people with whom they have been closely associated for many years, would bring about a totally “Changed” America, for sure. But not one that I could continue to respect. If this nation has enough careless, clueless and downright lazy citizens to put a man like Obama in command, then I say they deserve what they are begging for.

The sad part is that the ones that will be hurt most in an Obama Nation would be those very poor souls now clamoring for his coronation!
