I was touched by Anna Nicole Smith’s grief over the loss of her son, Daniel…a fate no mother should have to endure. In one of her last interviews, however, Anna exhibited a deep animosity toward her own mother. Bubbling to the surface, came the pent up venom she felt for the one and possibly only person who had tried, to no avail, to save Anna from herself. The effects of a base, misguided life filled with ingratitude and self destruction became obvious as her true persona emerged. I suppose we should feel sorry for someone who could not find one word of kindness for their own mother.
This was the least of the many tragic elements of her nature, for sure! She was so pathetic in her desperate efforts to emulate Marilyn Monroe. Anna Nicole was only a manufactured facsimile that evolved into a caricature of Marilyn. No, the world was given only one Marilyn. Hopefully, the public will not allow the media to create a posthumous cash cow out of Anna as they did from both Marilyn and Elvis. At least Marilyn did possess an undeniable, innate sex appeal. And Elvis exuded both sex appeal and talent. And then there was Anna Nicole.

Anna Nicole, Anna Nicole
Could you not find somewhere
Down deep in your soul
One word of kindness
Just one grateful tear
For someone who loved you
Through heartbreaking years?
Anna Nicole, Anna Nicole
When did you start spinning
Out of control?
Who saw it coming?
Where did it begin?
The staggering journey
To your fatal end
Anna Nicole, Anna Nicole
The tapestry of your life
Sadly unfolds
Your legacy looks
Like the picture of shame
But you left one jewel
To jump-start your name
Anna Nicole, Anna Nicole
I wonder why you chose
That broad, crooked road
Where every turn led
To deeper despair
The darker the valley
The greater the fear
Anna Nicole, Anna Nicole
When did you start spinning
Out of control
But who saw it coming
Where did it begin?
The staggering journey
To your tragic end?
