Miracle At Quecreek
DIGITAL MUSIC FILE
In the Quecreek coal mine, Somerset, Pennsylvania
240 feet underground
Cold water arising ’round nine brave coal miners
Could not bring this breed of men down
Trapped in the bowels of the earth, no way out
Rescue heroes worked through night and day
While we all prayed, Lord please bring them up alive
Save them from an untimely grave
Hungry and cold, but determined and bold
In their spirits they vowed friend to friend
Whatever their fate they would face it together
Through black night of fear, lose or win
Loved ones were anxiously waiting above
Their reasons to keep hanging on
We can only imagine the hell they endured
But their faith seemed to keep them all strong
When time and hope seemed to be slipping away
No more could be humanly done
Only the hand of God could save by sending
Amazing grace down in that mine
With a miracle for number nine
And who can forget when the Governor came
We could read by the light in his eyes
Good news, Happy day
Jubilee and Hooray!!
Praise the Lord, all nine are alive!!
Praise the Lord, all nine are alive!!
In the Quecreek coal mine Somerset, Pennsylvania
You’re known as the Miracle Nine
From you I’ve learned courage
From me, here is hoping,
You’ll never go back in that mine
